Although it took place before the story on Harvey Weinstein broke, Bombshell explores the #MeToo epidemic under Roger Ailes’ leadership at Fox News. It follows the narrative of the downfall of Ailes from the perspective of a group of female employees and is based on the real-life events, from when Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment suit against Ailes in July 2016. The film’s third leading lady is a fictional character named Kayla Pospisil, played by Margot Robbie. John Lithgow portrays Ailes and Connie Britton makes an appearance as Beth Ailes, Roger’s wife. In July 2016, Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes accusing him of sabbotaging her career and firing her for rejecting his sexual advances. She claimed that in response to her complaints of his sexist behavior, Ailes reduced her pay, gave her less favorable slots on air and denied her of the most-wanted interviews. When can we watch it?
