This Is Whistles | AW17

Clothes to take you anywhere could be Whistles’ new term manifesto.

This autumn-winter we take to the windswept coastal outlier of Camber Sands, marking a celebration of our British roots and stylish yet timeless design values.

We know the Whistles woman leads a busy, dynamic life, and her wardrobe needs to reflect that.

Effortlessly transitioning between her weekday cityscapes to her weekend wilderness – this collection has 24/7, seven days a week appeal.

The silhouette is relaxed, feminine and fluid, with pieces that can be easily dressed up or down. Louche knitwear, tumbled jersey and soft-touch shearlings in muted tones are anchored by knife pleat skirts and sharply tailored jumpsuits.

Outerwear takes centre stage with the iconic camel coat making a return, while the foolproof puffer jacket – with its practical outdoorsiness and of-the-moment oversized profile – proves it should never have gone away.

A statement print is one of our signatures, and this season is no exception.

A lively red and black apple print has a wry 70s charm, while baroque-inspired florals on luxurious silk and velvet devoré bases look modern when cut into contemporary pyjama co-ords and standout occasionwear.

The colour palette is a rich mix of marine blues and greens, full-bodied mulberry and easy neutrals, interspersed with punchy jewel metallics and hits of vibrant red.

Understated yet cool, throw-on but never throwaway – this is about clothes whose appeal lasts well beyond the Instagram post. This is real life dressing, in real life terms.

This is Whistles.
